The Trials and Tribulations of a Novice Airplane Kit Builder
Welcome! My name is Larry Enyeart. Thanks for stopping by to see my website that I have created to document the building process of a Van's RV-7. This site is intended to track my progress as I build an RV7(x). The 'x' indicates that I have not made up my mind yet on whether to build a tail dragger or the nose gear variant. (Ok, well that decision has been made when I bought the fuselage - it will be a tail dragger!) Plus other things like the engine.. to inject or not to inject, Lycoming O-320, 0-360, Eggenfellner, Rotax, Chevy or turbine? How about mods such as an external cargo pod (drop tank) or special cowling? Too many things to think about... Total Project Hours: 891.25 as of 7/19/2010Latest work - Finish Kit: CanopyCurrent Status - Blue areas indicate that portion is complete, Green means I am currently working on this portion and white means work still needing to be done: Random thoughts: (archive)7/19/2010Well it's been a while since I have updated the website. I have done little work this year on the plane. It is actually rather upsetting. Going to try to finish up this canopy in the next few weeks. 10/6/2009 - Finish kit shipment has been delayed. I am using Partain Shipping. Slower method but it will suredly come unscathed. Also... did my flight review this past weekend in the DA-20. Lots of fun!!8/24/2009 - It's been a busy July but August has been slower thankfully. The finish kit has been ordered! It should be here the week of September 21st. Mitchell and I went to Oshkosh for 4 days. Check out the pics here.7/4/2009 - Back from a week in San Francisco. I am relaxed and recharged a bit... wish I had something to work on though. Not much left to do until the Finish Kit is ordered. Not sure when that will happen. Probably toward the end of summer. 6/8/2009 - Yep slacking on the web updates again. Sorry if anyone is waiting LOL. 5/12/2009 - 1st web update since 4/11!!2/24/2009 - Not much time in the shop this past week due to a swim meet for the kids. Mitch is doing fantastic at this port. I expect by this time next year he will be a state champion or close to it. The kid is downright good!12/20/2008 - Wings moved to the airport. I now have room in the garage for the fuse to come together!12/6/2008 - Working on the wings again... finishing up the tips so I can get them out of here.Feel free to contact me at anytime if you have questions or have any helpful advice!
