The Trials and Tribulations of a Novice Airplane Kit Builder
Went for my very first ride in an RV-7 over the weekend. A friend of mine, Jack Holland, was kind enough to give me a ride in his beautiful RV-7 taildragger. I am so pumped up to get all my stuff ordered, delivered and put together after having flown with him. We flew a loose formation with Tommy who was flying a 182 Cardinal. We had to take it slow on the way to the breakfast iin Canton, IL. After breakfast, we let Tommy go back on his own. We flew back to Jack's. I got to do quite a bit of the flying and totally enjoyed the handling of the machine. I asked Jack to show me what it could do... so he did! We did a few high speed fly by's in the area of his farm. It was totally awesome! Man that thing is fast... so much better than flying that slow a$$ Cessna 152. I won't forget that day... thanks Jack!!Here I am in front of the RV Here's JackTommy's Cardinal - ready for departureTommy in loose formationTHE RV GRIN!!THE RV GRIN!!
