The Trials and Tribulations of a Novice Airplane Kit Builder
About me and my family:A little about me. Military planes have always fascinated me since I can remember. Attending multiple airshows and a good pair of binoculars kept me intereseted while growing up in a small farm town in Illinois. The only thing that flew over were airliners but I still had the binoculars out every chance I got. I constructed airplane models all the time too. All I could dream of was flying! At age 17 I joined the USAF and went on to become a Fuel Specialist. This job kept me right where I wanted to be... on the flight line. First at Castle AFB in CA with BUFFs and Tankers, then onto Kadena AB in Okinawa. F15s were stationed there but almost everything in the US inventory came through. I spent 6 years in and then called it quits to move onto bigger and better things. Got married in '01, had a child in '03 and in the same year finally got my pilots license! Long story about why it took so long but I am sure you are bored by now. So go enjoy the site and if you learn something then the time spent creating it was worth it!Jo and I have 4 kids, Luke - 17, Jackie - 13, Mitch - 10 and Olivia - 3.5.
